The tiny village of 200 settlers evolved into a bustling mill town with the advent of the Middlesex Canal and the Boston and Lowell railroad. In the late 1800’s Winchester developed into an affluent suburban community as successful businessmen from Boston moved into town and built substantial homes.
Served by two commuter rail stations to Boston, Winchester also has direct bus service to Alewife (the Red Line) and Wellington Station (the Orange Line).
